Wow, you got engaged and now…. so much is running through your mind! Where to start? What to do? Or how to do it best, and much more. Well, read on and learn why your venue is more important than anything else!
Venue Determines Your Date
First off, your venue determines your date. Why? If you have an awesome idea or became inspired from a Pinterest board or pins, or have a great location you plan on using- if that place is not available, then your perfect date may move. As your venue determines your date, it also impacts your dress, which leads to the time of year (season), and then, which vendors are available.
Venue> date> dress> season> vendors available
Next thought, your guests, having your wedding/reception inside or outside plays heavily on your guests. I know you may have always been thinking of them, but sometimes, your dream day is finally here, and you had always planned on having an outside wedding on the beach with beautiful weather. Well if you do, and it's hot out, your guests will be kind, but rather very uncomfortable in their expensive suits and dresses. And when moving inside to your reception, they may have a chill from the air conditioner and their perspiration…you get where am I going right?
Next, it's important to learn your venue's characteristics. Characteristics, what do you mean?
Well, If you wanted to go with a rustic feel or a ballroom, some hotels have deep red carpets, or a deafening orange wall, or room elements that clash with your theme- you see where I am going. With that, you may end up spending extra money to hide them.
And now, the BATHROOM. You know how you go to a restaurant for the first time, and you may gauge the quality of the place by their bathroom- I know a few people do that. Your wedding day and reception is a one-time event, your special day, the bathroom at the venue can make or break the classic feel of elegance you have always dreamt.
And last but not least, before you do A LOT of research on a photographer, videographer, etc., make sure your venue allows you to bring IN your vendors.
